Paczkis in the summer? This is the best news we’ve heard all week!
The wonderful Oakmont Bakery is featuring the Polish pastry (traditionally associated with Mardi Gras) this weekend only as a special summertime treat.
The raised dough pastry – they’re similar to a doughnut – is cooked in oil, then stuffed with cream or fruit fillings. At Oakmont Bakery, they have 12 different varieties, and they sound good enough to make us consider getting a mixed dozen:
- Oakmont Cream (a chocolate buttercream)
- Pittsburgh Cream (a white buttercream)
- Cookies & Cream
- Lekvar (prune)
If you miss the Paczkis now (they’re only available Friday, Saturday and Sunday), you’ll have to wait until January to try them.
