Squirrel Hill is home to a new taco spot.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette broke the news that Bull River Taco – a South Hills Taqueria known for $3 tacos – has opened a new location on Murray Avenue.

Bull River began as a mobile taco pop up, and opened its first location in the South Hills in April. Its newest location in Squirrel Hill is in the space formerly occupied by Waffallonia. Residents and passersby can now get quick and tasty tacos from Bull River for lunch or dinner, every day.

The restaurant serves five types of tacos, including:

  • The Chicken Taco
guacamole, slaw, choula creme, farmer’s cheese
  • The Pork Taco
guacamole, pico, bullseye sauce, farmer’s cheese
  • The Beef Taco
shredded cheese, lettuce, pico, cholula cream
  • The Spicy Beef Taco
pico, bullseye sauce, jalapenos, farmers cheese
  • The Veggie Taco
guacamole, black beans, pico, bullseye sauce, farmer’s cheese

And the restaurant frequently offers daily specials, like Slow-cooked Brisket Tacos.

Bull River Taco also offers sides of loaded nachos, black beans, taco salad, chips and salsa, and guacamole. And to drink? You’ll find Mexican Coke and Jarriot’s Mexican Sodas on the menu.

The restaurant has limited room for seating, but welcomes take-out orders.

Love this place! So happy to see delicious tacos in my neighborhood. Not only is the food super tasty, but it’s also a bang for your buck! Tons of filling in every taco and I hear the nachos are loaded. Two thumbs up.
