‘Tis the season! The Commoner, which is located on the first floor of The Hotel Monaco downtown, has something special to make the holidays go down a little smoother.

On December 1, the bar will be launching their How The Grinch Stole Christmas cocktail menu, which will run through the holidays.

The menu includes five themed drinks, and features ingredients like charred grapefruit vodka, malted hot chocolate, boozy marshmallows, and vanilla-cardamom reduction. Lead bartender Alex Dando shared a few notes with us about each drink, and how the menu came together.

The menu includes:

Jury Duty, Jury Duty, Black Mail, Pink Slip, Eviction Letter, Jury Duty… – $14

Sherry Dando – Momma Bear of Lead Bartender Alex Dando – has a world famous Mulled Cider recipe. This is it.

Wigle Organic Monongahela Rye Whiskey Single Barrel No. 15g23,
Momma Dando’s Mulled Cider, Grand Marnier Cuvée 1880-Vanilla Bean Whipped Cream

Tea on Mount Crumpit – $6

I always wished those little finger sandwiches at Christmas Tea were Jell-O shots.
This season, my wish finally comes true.

Who Steals a Christmas Tree? – $12

Swiss Alpine liquor, the best hot cocoa of your life, and boozy marshmallows.

Dolin Génépy, Malted Hot Chocolate, Angostura Marshmallow

It’s Because I’m Green, Isn’t It? – $12

Everyone loves the Being Green juice from brunch, but we thought it was missing something – namely Holiday spirit(s). We’re much happier now.

Charred Grapefruit-Tarragon Infused Tito’s Vodka, Domaine de Canton, Berentzen Apfelkorn, Lemon, Vanilla-Cardamom Reduction, “Being Green” Fresh-Pressed Juice.

Whobilation Nog – $14

Lots of booze, a few eggs, and a holiday tradition that even The Grinch could get behind. Do you have friends? If so, ask your server about huddling around a big punch bowl of this gem.

Old Grand-Dad Bonded Bourbon, Pierre Ferrand 1840 Cognac, Plantation 5 Year Rum, Lustao Amontillado Sherry, Vanilla Bean, Heavy Cream, Primrose Farms “Green” Egg.
