Boozy Brunch Book Fair at Threadbare Cider
Brunch, books and booze? Count us in. Threadbare Cider is hosting a crew of awesome national food and drink writers for a day filled with author discussions, book signings and shopping. Tickets are $12 per person, and include a cocktail with each of the three author talks. Get tickets online.
Bottomless Mimosa Brunch at Franktuary
Franktuary has a brand-new Sunday brunch menu – and they’re going to celebrate it by serving up some bottomless brunches. The menu includes a Breakfast Frank with bacon, egg and maple syrup and wrapped in French Toast, a Waffle Sandwich with chorizo, and Breakfast Poutine.
Monday, December 4
The Tipping Point at Scratch Food & Beverage
Join industry leaders at Scratch Food & Beverage for a discussion about tipping in the restaurant industry. Nicole Battle (president of USBG), Brian Keyser (owner of Casellula) and Don Mahaney (owner of Scratch) will be discussing the future of pay in the restaurant industry at this free event.
A Dinner for Puerto Rico with Jamilka Borges at The Independent Brewing Company
Jamilka Borges (and her mother!) are cooking a homestyle Puerto Rican feast for a good cause at the Independent Brewing Company from 5:00 to 11:00 p.m. Proceeds from the dinner will go to El Buen Samaritano, a non-profit that Borges’ mother launched to help those in Puerto Rico who were devastated by this year’s hurricanes. Krampusnacht in Market Square
Krampus is coming to Pittsburgh! The ancient European holiday of Krampusnacht is being celebrated in Market Square on Tuesday, December 5. The star of the show (Krampus) arrives at 7:00 p.m. sharp, and the free event will feature music, food, vendors and a bar crawl. See more on the event page.
Federal Galley Grand Opening
Federal Galley will be open for business in Nova Place on the North Side starting at 11:00 a.m. The second food hall from the Galley Group will feature four restaurant concepts, including Provision PGH, which was part of its sister restaurant Smallman Galley’s initial restaurant class.

Cheap Date Night at Legume
Once a month, Oakland’s Legume Bistro offers a special three-course menu for two for only $50 a couple. Make reservations online.
Thursday, December 7
Burgers ‘n Beers at Pear and the Pickle
Once a month, Pear and the Pickle in Troy Hill teams up with Roundabout Brewery for a burger night, with beef burgers, veggie burgers, fries, shakes, beer, and a few surprises, too. Dinner service starts at 5:00 p.m.
Saturday, December 9
Soergel Orchards Snowflake Festival
Soergel Orchards celebrates their Snowflake Festival from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., with family fun, including horse-drawn carriage rides, hot drinks and food, cider from Arsenal Cider, and holiday shopping.
Crafts and Drafts at East End Brewing Company
Do your holiday shopping while sipping on some EEBC brews at Crafts and Drafts. There will be more than a dozen vendors in the brewery selling crafts and gifts, and food vendors will include La Palapa and Leona’s Ice Cream. See more on the event page.
Squirrel Hill Holiday Wine Walk
Uncover Squirrel hill is hosting a holiday-themed, self-guided wine tasting event from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., featuring red and white wine, plus mulled cider. Tickets are $25 per person, and will include a ‘wine passport,’ which will give you a list of participating businesses that will be offering wine tastings. Tickets are available online.
Pop-Up Pie Bar at Pie Bird
Pie Bird will have pies, festive holiday drinks, and live music from The Unknown String Band at their pop-up pie bar on December 9. Plus, they’ll start taking holiday pie pre-orders at the event, so you can get your holiday baking taken care of!

A Made + Found Holiday Pop-Up Shop

Christmas on Main Street in Canonsburg

Friday, December 15
Strangest Things: After Dark at the Carnegie Museum
The Carnegie Museum’s After Dark series will focus on the paranormal this time. Come dressed as your favorite Stranger Things or sci-fi character, and enjoy some 21+ fun. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased online.
Saturday, December 16
Threadbare Holiday Market
Celebrate the season at Threadbare Cider and Mead! They’re installing a huge all-weather tent with more than a dozen Christmas trees, Wassail cider cocktails, family-friendly activities (including cookie decorating, a cider sabering with confetti cannon and lantern lighting), and vendors from lots of local artists and makers. Bloomfield Ugly Sweater Bar Crawl
Local bars and restaurants along Liberty Avenue in Bloomfield will be offering drink and food specials during this neighborhood bar crawl, and Pittsburgh Dad will be making a special appearance. It’s free to participant, but registration is required.
Monday, December 18
The Mixtape at Bar Frenchman
Bartending best friends Greta Harmon and Jen Mulero are taking over the bar at Bar Frenchman with Copper & Kings and creating a drink menu of cocktails that are inspired by old-school and new-school Christmas cover songs. Bar Frenchman will be serving up a late-night menu that includes a $5 smashed burger and duck fat wings. See more on the event page.
At Her Table Launch Party at The Vandal
The Vandal’s Csilla Thackray is launching a new collaboration series for a good cause. Each ‘At Her Table’ event will feature a collaboration Thackray and another female chef in Pittsburgh to benefit Planned Parenthood of Western PA. The kickoff event is being held on December 18 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at The Vandal, and will feature small bites and drinks from the Allegheny Wine Mixer. Tickets are $20 per person at the door.
