September is Hunger Action Month, and we can’t think of a better time to support one of the area’s newest crusaders against hunger, 412 Food Rescue.
412 Food Rescue is the brainchild of Leah Lizarondo of The Brazen Kitchen, and Gisele Fetterman of the Free Store in Braddock. The organization helps to bridge the disconnect between waste and hunger, by rescuing viable food from food distributors, retailers, caterers, and restaurants and donating food that would otherwise go to landfills to local shelters, housing projects, and soup kitchens.
It’s an amazing organization, and it’s worthy of an awesome fundraiser.
On Tuesday, September 29 at their headquarters in Braddock, join 412 Food Rescue for a Taco Tuesday fundraiser, with food by PGH Taco Truck, live music, and lots of hand-crafted cocktails and local brews.
Plus, they’ll also be showing off an exclusive preview of their soon-to-be-released 412 Food Rescue app.
Tickets are $100 per person, with all proceeds going to the organization.
