We know that it’s been around for awhile, but every now and then we like to remind readers about one of our favorite Pittsburgh activities – brewing beer at Copper Kettle.
Copper Kettle brews every Wednesday through Saturday, and you and a group of friends can make an appointment to brew your own batch with one of their six brewing kettles. After you make your appointment, you’ll choose from about 50 different recipes to make a batch that suits you best. The brewing process takes about two hours (and it’s pretty hands-on), and then you wait about three weeks until your bottles are ready to be picked up from the brewery.
You can choose to either produce a small batch (two cases) or a large batch (five cases) of 22-ounce bottles. They also offer groups the chance to reserve multiple kettles at the same time, to create even more beer in a single go.
Pricing varies by the recipe, but ranges from $105 for two cases, to $250 for five cases. And, if 50+ recipe choices aren’t quite enough, Copper Kettle is now offering add-ons for certain recipes, including fruits (like raspberry, blueberry, peach, cherry and apricot), coffee, or an oak-aged option.
Prices include all bottles, though customized labels are extra.
