You shouldn’t wait until Mother’s Day to show your Mom how much you love her – but it’s definitely a good idea not to forget the holiday! There are lots of Mom-friendly events happening in the city on Sunday, May 12, and brunch reservations still available at some of Pittsburgh’s favorite restaurants. Plus, if you haven’t gotten a gift yet, we have a few ideas for you, too.

Mother’s Day at Pittsburgh Zoo
Enjoy the holiday at the Pittsburgh Zoo, where all mothers on Mother’s Day will receive free admission when accompanied by one or more of their children.
Neighborhood Flea
The Neighborhood Flea is back for its fifth season! While the outdoor market has a new location at 26th and Smallman Streets, you can still find great handmade vendors, crafters, antiques, vintage furniture and clothes, food, and more. The event runs from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Natural Log Succulent Planter Workshop at Neighborhood Flea
Pisarcik Greenhouse is hosting at workshop at the Neighborhood Flea to teach attendees who to put together a succulent planter. The class will include instruction about the different succulent varieties available, all materials and tools. Tickets are $40 and can be found online.
Public Art Run
Have a sporty Mom? Take her for an art run! The one-hour run (which is stroller-friendly), will give runners the chance to explore the murals on the South Side while enjoying a relaxing, three-mile morning run. Tickets are $25 each and can be purchased online.
Mimosas with Mom at The Candle Lab
Spend an afternoon with your mom pouring your very own candles, while enjoying mimosas. At The Candle Lab on Mother’s Day, all pour-your-own candles and other custom products are buy one, get one free. And on Sunday, you’ll also get a free mimosa when to enjoy as you make your candle.
Mother’s Day Tea Party at The Abbey on Butler Street
Treat your mother to a grown-up tea party this Mother’s Day. The Abbey on Butler Street is reserving tables in their Coffee House for this special event, which will feature tea, finger sandwiches, desserts and seats. There will be two seatings on Sunday: One from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m., and one from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. Call them at 412-682-0200 for reservations.
Mother’s Day Yappy Hour at Wigle Whiskey
Let your Mom spend Mother’s Day with their favorite kid – the family pup! On Sunday, May 13 from noon to 7:00 p.m. head to the Barrelhouse & Whiskey Garden for a Yappy Hour with live music, a food truck, games, and a photo booth from Camp Bow Wow. Dogs are welcome all day long!
Mother’s Day DIY Parties at WorkShop PGH
WorkShop PGH will be hosting two sessions of Mother’s Day activities on May 13. They’re starting the day off with a brunch party ($68 per person or $124 for a pair) with DIY activities that you can take home. In the afternoon session, there will be four activities, plus a cocktail-making class, too, and a late lunch. Find out more on their event page.

Casbah will feature a prix-fixe brunch for $28 per person, with a number of appetizer and entree options.
Eleven
Eleven is offering a Mother’s Day prix-fixe brunch that includes an appetizer and cocktail along with a brunch entree.
Bigham Tavern
Bigham Tavern is hosting its annual Mother’s Day brunch buffet with complimentary mimosas for all mothers. The brunch will be available from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and the regular menu starts at 2:00 p.m. Call 412-431-9313 for reservations.
Lidia’s Pittsburgh is hosting an all-day celebration with a three-course prix-fixe menu featuring Italian specialties, plus a special menu for children. Seats are $45 for adults and $16 for children.
Threadbare Cider
Threadbare Cider’s chef Jay Wess is preparing a special Mother’s Day Brunch menu in support of the ALS Association of Western Pennsylvania. Tickets are $55 for four courses.

fl. 2 in the Fairmont Pittsburgh will feature a special Mother’s Day brunch menu on both Saturday, May 12 and Sunday, May 13 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., featuring dishes like Dutch Cakes with Jarlsberg cheese and strawberry jam and Quiche with mushrooms, Gruyere, kale and caramelized onions. Reservations are available online.
Senti
Senti’s $50 prix-fixe brunch menu features three courses, including appetizer, entree and dessert.
Coughlin’s Law
Newly-opened Coughlin’s Law in Mt. Washington is offering a special Mother’s Day brunch this year from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., featuring a free glass of champagne for all mothers, plus build-your-own Bloody Mary’s and mimosas.
Revel + Roost
Enjoy Mother’s Day brunch at Revel + Roost downtown, featuring multiple buffet stations, carved meats, made-to-order omelets and a dessert table. Brunch is $42 for adults and $18 for children (free for children under six), and will be available from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Reservations are recommended.
Piazza Talarico and Papa Joe’s Wine Cellar
Brunch at the popular Lawrenceville restaurant will feature Eggs Benedict on a pizzas shell, Sausage Risotto, French Toast with raspberry compote and goat cheese and assorted homemade doughnuts.
