Are you excited for the royal nuptials of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle this weekend? Then we’ve got the dessert for you!
Spork, located on Penn Avenue in Garfield, is celebrating the royal wedding by serving their version of the wedding cake through May 19.
Spork’s pastry chef, Kevi Furgason, designed a riff on the “lemon-elderflower” cake requested by Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.
The official wedding cake will be made by Claire Ptak, owner of Violet Bakery in London.
Furgason’s version of the cake includes white cake, lemon curd, and elderflower buttercream. There’s also a fresh violet garnish, as a nod to Violet Bakery.
Although no photos of the official cake have been released, the design of Furgason’s cake was inspired by the the style of cakes Violet Bakery usually produces.
“IÂ looked at the Violet Bakery site, and most of the cakes are naked on the side, and very rustic, which I love,” says Furgason.Â
The cake is $9 and can be purchased at Spork through May 19.
