Lots of fall happenings at Union Pig & Chicken, from a just-released cocktail menu, to a meat-centric dinner with a kick.

A few seats are still available for their October Meatfest: A Celebration of All Things Hops, with Reed Verdesoto, of Green Thicket Farms, and a menu filled with creatures that jump, from rabbits to kangaroo.

Meatfest is happening Tuesday, October 20, starting at 7:30 p.m., and the $65 ticket includes four courses, tax, tips and cocktails. For tickets, email [email protected].

On the menu:

  • Smoked Frog Legs: Brisket-fat buffalo sauce, baby beets, pickled GreenThicket eggs
  • Bar Snacks: Rabbit pate, pistachio mustard, quick-pickled rabbit sausages with Saaz hops, pretzels
  • Pittsburgh Salad: Bitter greens, seared kangaroo loin, confit fingerling potatoes, Abergele, 6-minute GreenThicket eggs, roasted carrots, rabbit liver Ranch Dressing
  • A Float: Fresh-hopped root beer, chocolate-covered cricket ice cream, mini Whoopi Pie with bunny-liver crème

Union has also just unveiled their new fall cocktail menu, featuring new seasonal concoctions, made with a keen eye toward inventive flavor combinations, and classic cocktails with a twist.

  • Moops: Blanco, Mezcal, Orange Bauchant, Apple Cider
  • The Kramer: Ancho Chili Reposado Tequila, Dolin Rouge, Prickly Pear, Lime
  • Bad Breaker Upper: Gin, Luzardo, Green Chartreuse, Lime
  • I Was In The Pool!: Light & Dark Rums, Orange Bauchant, Smoked Pecan Orgeat, Citrus
  • Raquel Welch: Blended & Single-Malt Scotch, Smoked Earl Grey, Lemon, Cardamom
  • Low Talker: Shandy of Miller High Life & Curried Orange Honey Lemonade
  • Yada, Yada, Yada: Apple Brandy, Licquore Strega, Orange Bauchant, Lemon
  • Delores: Reposado, Crème de Cassis, XXXHot, Ginger Beer

And as if that wasn’t enough, they’ve also announced that they’re the latest local spot to offer Millie’s Homemade Ice Cream, from husband-and-wife team Chad and Lauren Townsend. Available for dessert at the restaurant, or to-go, they’re currently offering Chad’s Vanilla, The Best Chocolate, and Salted Caramel flavors.
