Moussaka, souzoukakia, spanakopita – find all of your favorite traditional Greek dishes during Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church’s annual Taste of Greece Festival!

For over 40 years, the North Side church has hosted the Greek festival, complete with Greek food, dancing, and traditional entertainment.

This year’s event will take place from Wednesday, August 29 through Sunday, September 2 from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. in McCandless Township, at 985 Providence Boulevard (the corner of Babcock Boulevard and Cumberland Road, across from UPMC Passavant Hospital).

The festival will feature a large selection of Greek dishes to dine on at the event, or to take out. This year’s dishes include Souvlaki (cubes of marinated lamb, grilled, and served on a skewer), Souzoukakia (baked meatballs in a tomato-wine sauce), Pork Yeero (slow-roasted pork shoulder in grilled pita bread), and Moussaka (layers of potato, eggplant and ground meat with a Béchamel sauce). There will also be a number of traditional Greek desserts on hand, too.

A Greek band will perform nightly from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., and the festival is free to attend.

While parking is limited at the event, a free shuttle bus will run from the UPMC Passavant Green Lot to the festival.
