A Pittsburgh tradition is returning to the city next month!

For the third year in a row, St. George Ukrainian Catholic Church – located on California Ave in Brighton Heights – is hosting their annual Pierogie Festival.

The festival will be held on November 3 from 11:00 A.M. – 4:00 P.M.

The festival will feature 7 varieties of pierogies, including:
-Potato and Cheese
-Sauerkraut
-Half and Half
-Loaded Potato
– Jalapeno
-Farmer’s Cheese
-Lekvar (prune plum)

They will also serve 3 types of soup:
-Borscht
-Vegetable
-Mushroom Barley

According to the church’s website, “Making pyrohy has always been an important activity initiated in 1951 by the parishioners of St. George’s during the ministry of Rev. Eustace Weselowsky to support church projects.””

This festival is one of the most popular and authentic pierogie events in the region.

“We make our pyrohy the ‘Old World’ way with quality products and care,” the website continues.
