Eat, Drink, Summer
Enjoy bites from local vendors like Table 86 and Bellissimo’s at the Lodge at North Park, plus drinks and live entertainment. Tickets are $30 per person, and can be purchased online.
Saturday, August 13
Food Truck Roundup
The Busy Beaver in Lawrenceville is hosting four local food trucks (Wok of Life PGH, Vagabond Food Truck, Caustelot Creamery and Pittsburgh Nitro) from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. More information is on their event page.
Afternoon High Tea at Adda
Adda Café continues their twice-a-month afternoon high teas with a double dose this weekend, on Saturday and Sunday. Each day offers two services (one a noon and one at 2:00 p.m.) and includes their entire tea menu with pastries, tea sandwiches and snacks prepared by Bar Marco. Seating is limited, and reservations are available online.
Saturday Backyard Lunch at Spirit
Slice Island’s Becca Hegarty is taking over Spirit’s Saturday Backyard Lunch program for the next few weeks and this week’s menu includes late-summer favorites, like cabbage slaw, cantaloupe salad, corn on the cob, BLT’s, grilled eggplant sandwiches and peach cobbler, all made with locally-grown vegetables. Grains to Glass at East End Brewery Tour
East End Brewing Company is hosting a series of tours, including one (which still has tickets available) for Saturday. Tickets are $25 and include a sampling of four current East End brews, a guided grains-to-glass brewery tour, and a free Growler filled with one of their beers. Find more information online.
Millvale Brew Fest
Celebrate the 10th annual Millvale Brew Fest at Millvale Riverfront Park with two sessions for beer-drinking, one from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., and one from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tickets range from $25 to $65 and include food and beer samples from over 180 small, local and specialty brews. Bike the Burgh Whiskey Tour
Hop on your bike and join the historical tour about Pittsburgh’s history in whiskey production and Prohibition with Wigle Whiskey. The three-hour tour starts at 4:30 p.m. on the North Shore, and ends at the Wigle Whiskey Barrelhouse. Tickets are $30, and include a whiskey sampling, and barrelhouse tour. Wineapalooza at Stage AE
Sped your day sampling wines from local wineries, such as Knob Hall Winery, Knockin Noggin Cidery & Winery and Nectar Valley Winery. Four sessions are available, and tickets are $50 at the door. For more information, visit their event page.
Neighoborhood Flea
Neighborhood Flea, the monthly handmade and vintage market, is back this Sunday at their location in the Strip District. In addition to furniture, housewares, clothing and crafts, food vendors and trucks including Goodlife Juices, Happy Camper Cakes, Stickler’s Ice Pops, Proper Brick Oven, Second Breakfast, McGeary Bakery and Zeke’s Coffee will also be selling their treats.
