We’ve been waiting for Richard DeShantz’s fried chicken restaurant, Coop de Ville, to open for some time now. And while we still have a little way to go before they’re officially up and running (the latest word is that they’ll be open in late fall), if you want to get your hands on some fantastic fried chicken sandwiches, salads and sides, you now have a semi-regular chance.
The Coop de Ville pop-up will be open every Thursday and Friday from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM at tako (214 6th Street). Keep in mind that the pop-up location is subject to change, which means you should be following along on Instagram to check.
The menu features four kinds of chicken sandwiches (available grilled or fried), including our favorite, the Hot Chicken, with spicy sauce, bread and butter pickles, iceberg lettuce slaw and garlic aioli. There’s also a selection of salads (Heirloom Tomato, Corn & Chickpea and Farro), and classic crinkle fries to round out your meal.
Coop de Ville’s pop-up is cash only, and orders are taken at the tako takeout counter outside.
