This week Pittsburgh has the opportunity to experience the food and beverages of Sicily from the comfort of Lawrenceville.
On Thursday, July 25, The Vandal will launch their brand new “Wine Dinner Party” series with a Sicilian feast.
“We’re kicking off this series to celebrate the social experience of dining out and highlighting the collaborative spirit between kitchen and bar,” says Joey Hilty, owner of The Vandal.
Thursday’s dinner will pair five Sicilian-inspired dishes by The Vandal’s executive chef Rebecca Romagnoli with five Sicilian wines acquired by the team at Allora Wine Group.
The menu for the meal includes:
primu, smoked sardine arancini
seccùnu, eggplant caponata
terzu, maltagliati pasta
quàrtu, sicilian style red prawns
quintu, chocolate granita con brioche
“We like to call it a dinner party, as opposed to a wine dinner because the style of service and the mood is much more akin to a party with friends,” continues Hilty.
Future wine dinner parties include a playful all-rosé wine dinner in August and a late summer farm dinner at Goat Rodeo Creamery in September.
“Our next dinner will be an homage to our favorite summer dishes and will start outside in our garden and work it’s way back into the restaurant, drinking and eating along the way,” says Hilty.
The meal begins at 7:30 P.M. and is $75 per person. Reservations can be made by calling 412-616-1212 or emailing [email protected].
