Iron City Beer is celebrating its 160th birthday with a new release.
The Pittsburgh brewery is teaming up with Pittsburgh-based coffee roaster Press House Coffee to create Iron City Bean, which they say tastes like “the best damn diner coffee you’ve ever had.”
The Nine to Five Blend is a robust medium-dark roast, made with four different beans from Cameroon, Mexico, Guatemala and Brazil. The coffee has notes of caramel, chocolate and nougat.
Pittsburgh Brewing Co. has already sold nearly 500 bags of the blend since the coffee has been available at their online shop, retailing for $14 a bag. It’s also available at The Brew House in Gibsonia, and will be available at select beer distributors soon.
Bags are available with whole beans, and ground beans.
