Happy anniversary, Big Daddy’s Donuts!
On Saturday, August 15, the Crafton doughnut shop will be celebrating their 14th year of business – and they’re offering their customers a special deal to celebrate.
All doughnuts that day will be 14-cents each, or $1.68 for a dozen (with a limit of one dozen doughnuts).
Owner Blair Cress says that he wanted to mark the occasion by “doing something crazy.”
“People say, ‘Blair, how can you do it?,’ he says. “And I’m not making money, I’m losing money, but it gets people in through the door and it helps us celebrate a really nice thing.”

Cress says that the doughnut shop typically makes between 80 and 100 dozen of doughnuts a day, but are planning to make about 300 dozen on Saturday.
“We’re going to bake throughout the night, and hopefully we can make it throughout the day,” he says. “But when we sell out, we sell out.”
Big Daddy’s Donuts has a variety of doughnuts available, including a Crafton Cream (white cream filling with chocolate icing), a Crafton Angle (white cream filling with powdered sugar), Cookies ‘n Cream, Fruity Pebbles, Coconut Cream, Boston Cream, and more traditional sugar and glazed doughnuts.
Big Daddy’s Donuts also has a shop downtown, but the Saturday special is for their location in Crafton only.
“We’ve been here for 14 years, and so I feel like we have something to celebrate,” Cress says. “Business isn’t exactly what it used to be, but I own the building, so I’m not going anywhere.”
In addition to fresh-made doughnuts, Big Daddy Donuts also serves breakfast sandwiches on bagels or biscuits, muffins, and other breakfast foods. They’re open daily from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
“We do a pretty good job, with everything fresh every day,” says Cress. “And I enjoy what I do.”
The Saturday special of $1.68/dozen doughnuts is limited to one dozen doughnuts per person.
