The Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership has announced that its popular Yoga in the Square will return to downtown Pittsburgh on May 2.
A variety of yoga studios in Pittsburgh will be offering free, one-hour outdoor classes on Sunday mornings at 10:00 a.m. and Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m.
The yoga classes have been so popular in previous years that this year, the bi-weekly classes will run for an additional month, through October 13.
Yoga in the Square is maintaining all COVID safety protocols with face masks required, and socially-distanced yoga mat placements. Each class is limited, so while walk-ups are welcome if space is available, pre-registration is open online, and ensures a spot in the class.
Every class is BYOM (bring your own mat), and each class will feature different instructors, offering their own unique routines and classes. Weather cancellation notifications will be posted on the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership’s social media channels.
The Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership will also be setting up outdoor tables and chairs in Market Square for additional outdoor dining options, and the Market Square Ambassador program will be hosting on-site giant lawn games seven days a week in Market Square, including Jenga, Connect4 and cornhole.
