Live music, lots of brews, and plenty of food… it’s shaping up to be a pretty great weekend in Pittsburgh!

Friday, October 14

Abbeyfest at The Abbey on Butler Street
Lawrenceville’s The Abbey on Butler Street is hosting a three-day music, food and art fest on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Friday night bites includes a Seafood Boil, Saturday highlights include an afternoon and evening cookout with a craft and art sale, and on Sunday, they’re hosting a pig roast – complete with an outdoor showing of the Steelers game. Local music will be playing all three days, and more info can be found online.

Pizza Throwdown with Driftwood Oven and Pizzaboat at Spirit
Pizza fans, this one’s for you. Local faves Driftwood Oven and Pizza Boat are going head-to-head in the Spirit parking lot for the title of ‘best Pittsburgh mobile pizza unit.’ It’s free to join the fun and pizza is pay-as-you-go. Check out their event page for more information.

Cranberry Clove Release Party at Apis Mead & Winery
Carnegie’s Apis Mead & Winery is releasing their wildly-popular Cranberry Clove Mead on Friday at 7:00 p.m., with live music and street eats from Berlin Street Food. Find more information online.

Saturday, October 15

Brewing Up A Cure at PPG Wintergarten
General admission tickets are still available for the 10th annual Brewing Up A Cure at PPG Wintergarten. Try samples of more than 75 different homebrewed beers, plus beers from Pittsburgh microbreweries, and food, too. Tickets are $50 per person, and all proceeds benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Bierport Barrel Bash
Bierport is hosting their first-ever barrel-aged beer fest, featuring unlimited pours of some special barrel-aged finds. Drafts include Thirsty Dog Barrel-Aged 12 Dogs of Christmas, Lost Abbey Cuvee de Tomme, Unita Pork O’Call and Clownshoes Barrel-Aged Bluegrass Billionaire. Tickets are $55 each, and can be purchased online.

Studio A.M. Saturday Cocktail Brunch with Salud Juicery
Salud Juicery is releasing Light Switch, a special juice collaboration with article Baron Batch, and they’re hosting a BYOB Cocktail Brunch on Saturday at Studio A.M. in Shadyside. There will be two seatings of brunch, featuring dishes like French Toast with strawberry glaze, and coconut-milk pancakes with pineapple sauce. Tickets are $25 per person, and can be purchased online.

Sunday, October 16

Merchant Oyster Co. Farm Roast
Get a preview of Merchant Oyster Co., the soon-to-open oyster house at Root and Heart Farm’s Fall party and pig roast. The Merchant Oyster crew will be serving up roasted pork, oysters, and clam chowder, and there will be plenty of beer from Rooney’s, Fat Heads, Full Pint and Hop Farm, plus live music and farm games, too. Tickets are $45, and proceeds benefit The Backpack Foundation. Purchase tickets online.

Sunday Sonntag with Rivertowne Brewing at Wigle Whiskey Barrelhouse
Enjoy complimentary samples of Rivertowne Brewing and special Wigle cocktails at Wigle Whiskey’s weekly Sunday Sonntag event. The event is rain or shine, kid and dog-friendly, and completely free. This week, Brassero Grill will also be serving up tacos on-site, too. See their event page for more information.

Sunday Supper with Pittsburgh Food Policy Council
To celebrate Pittsburgh Food Day, the Pittsburgh Food Policy Council is hosting a free Sunday Supper event, a community dinner to celebrate their work towards a more just and sustainable food system. The family-friendly meal will be prepared and sourced by 412 Food Rescue and Community Kitchen Pittsburgh, and will take place on Grant Street, in front of the City-County Building in downtown Pittsburgh.
