G&G Noodle Bar is closing its doors.
The downtown eatery announced on its Facebook page that its last day of business will be Sunday, January 15.
G&G Noodle Bar is one of the restaurants in the S+P Restaurant Group, which also includes BRGR, Willow and Spoon. According to the post, the restaurant group will launch a new concept in the space later this year.
Pittsburgh Magazine’s Hal B. Klein spoke with S+P’s Brian Pekarcik, who said that even after re-branding the restaurant’s original ‘Grit & Grace’ concept last year to a new, more casual approach, the restaurant was not meeting its goals. From Pittsburgh Magazine:
“It’s pretty brutal. We’ve been trying to fight the good fight, but the reality is that it hasn’t been performing down here the way we needed it to,” says Pekarcik.
The restaurant opened in 2013.
