Sad news from Dish Osteria and Bar.
The South Side staple announced today in a Facebook post that it would be closing its doors next month. In the post, the Savoia family says that after 17 years in business, they’ve decided it’s time to take a sabbatical, which will allow them to “catch our breath and dedicate ourselves further to our passion for food, which will lead to our next chapter.”
From the post:
“We are forever grateful to our customers who have supported us over the years. You have shared with us so many important moments and contributed to making Dish what it has become. A place that has not only been a restaurant and bar where guests come to enjoy a dining experience, but also a place where many of you have kept coming to see familiar faces, share your stories, engage with new comers, and make new friends. We met many of you when you were barely legal to drink, and now you’re asking us for high chairs. There have been so many stories that go beyond the dining experience in and of itself, too many to tell on these pages. We will miss you all so much and in making this decision, we realize even more how much of a family you have been to us.”
The restaurant’s final day of service will be April 22.
