
Tickets to tonight’s ‘Plates & Pours’ tasting class at Six Penn Kitchen are still available. The monthly series always features a unique theme, and this month, the restaurant is celebrating the dishes of legendary chef Julia Child. For the Plates and Pours series, Six Penn pairs and educates guests on five wines, and five accompanying dishes.
Tonight’s menu includes:
- First Course
Smoked Salmon: Traditional Gravlox featuring Dill Cured Atlantic Salmon on a Crispy Crostini
Paired with: Sancerre, Loire Valley, France, 2014
- Second Course
Potato Leek Soup and Cheese-Braised Brussels Sprouts
Paired with: Chardonnay, California
- Third Course
Pissaladiere and Duck Liver Pate: Provençal Carmelized Onion Tart, Anchovies, Olives, Fresh Herbs
Paired with: Dry Rosé, Provence, France, 2015
- Fourth Course
Boeuf Bourguignon: Slow-Roasted Red Wine Braised Beef Stew with Carrots, Celery, Pearl Onions
Paired with: Red Burgundy, Bourgogne, France
- Fifth Course
Vanilla Bean Crepes: Almond Custard, Baked Apples, Crumbled Macaroons
Paired with: Coteaux du Layon, Loire Valley, France
