Lawrenceville’s Tender Bar + Kitchen has announced that it will be closing.
In a Facebook post, owner Jeff Catalina said that the cocktail lounge and restaurant’s last day of operation would be April 22.
“The owners, management and staff of Tender couldn’t be more proud to have been recognized as Pittsburgh’s premier cocktail bar the past four years. We love this concept we’ve brought to life, and we thank you, our guests and fans, for all your support and patronage over the years.”
In an interview with the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Catalina cited Pittsburgh’s increasingly competitive eating and drinking scene in the city as one of the reason’s for the bar’s closure. From the PG:
“It’s great to have been at least a small part of the continued revitalization of Lawrenceville,” Catalina said. “It’s great to have been a part of that story and we are very interested in making sure there is another strong concept and tenant to fill that space.”
“We want go out with a bang,” he said. “We have nearly a month for our fans to come by and enjoy the place, until we’re ready to polish last that last glass.”
