Phipps Conservatory in Oakland has announced that they are celebrating the beginning of summer with their annual “Jazz in the Garden” event on Thursday, May 25. Guests can expect “cool tunes and full booms” for this night of jazz, food and drinks in the beautiful outdoor garden at the Phipps.
The musical headliners for the event include the Benny Benack Big Band, led by Pittsburgh jazz icon Benny Benack, Jr. and featuring Benny Benack III, in addition to several other jazz superstars.
The event will be rain or shine. Tickets range from $30 to $87, with prices dependent on if you are a member of the Phipps, if you want a seat under the tent (or bring your own blanket), and if you want to add a locally-sourced picnic box to your ticket.
