Learn More About Milk with “Slow Milk” at Legume

May 30, 2017 by Madeline Quigley Leave a Comment

Slow Milk, a “taste and learn” event presented by Legume Bistro in Oakland, is going to teach you the reasons why milk is not created equal.

The event on Saturday, June 10 will educate guests on ways different animals, seasons, and farming methods can affect the taste of milk. Guests at the event will have the chance to sample the nuanced flavors of cow, goat, and sheep’s milks. Additionally, the Mennonite and Amish farmers of Swiss Villa explain their milk practices, Chad Townsend of Millie’s Ice Cream will share why he prefers local milk for making his ice cream.

Finally, Legume owner Trevett Hooper will present a sneak peek of Pie For Breakfast, his new restaurant next door.

This event is hosted by East End Food Co-op and Slow Food Pittsburgh.  Tickets are $10 for Co-op and Slow Food members, $15 for non-members, and can be purchased online.
