In honor of Vegetarian Month at Legume, Butterjoint is mixing up the July edition of their Wing Off series with a extra-special “Vegetarian Wing Off.” This event will be held Tuesday, July 25 at Butterjoint in Oakland from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Using seitan (a protein-rich meat alternative made from wheat gluten) from Spak Brothers, three Pittsburgh chefs are serving up their interpretation of vegetarian wings. In the name of friendly competition, one chef will be selected as the customer favorite.
The contenders for the event include:
- Keith Fuller or Pork and Beans
- Omar Abuhejleh of B52
- Joe White of Butterjoint
Wash down your wings with a beer or craft cocktail from Butterjoint’s acclaimed bar.
Wings will be served starting at 5:00 p.m., and voting ends at 8:00 p.m. More information can be found online.
