Saturday, May 7: Sneak Peek Preview Dinner at Pork & Beans
Keith Fuller and Rick Deshantz haven’t quite opened the doors to Pork & Beans, their downtown smokehouse, but they’re hosting a preview tasting and beer dinner at the restaurant on Saturday, May 7. Tickets are $95 per person, and can be purchased online.
Saturday, May 7: Blossom Bash at Kretschmann Farm
Enjoy the wonders of spring at Kretschmann Farm in Rochester, PA, while tasting bites from Della Terra’s chef Fiore Moletz. As an added bonus, they’ll be pouring home vintages of hard apple cider and beer from farm staff, and sweet and sparkling cider from Kretschmann orchards. Saturday, May 7: Korean Food Bazaar
Your Saturday lunch plans are set. The Korean Central Church of Pittsburgh is hosting the all-day Korean food festival, with authentic Korean fare, including Korean BBQ, Hoe Naengmyeon, Mul Naengyeon, Bibimbap, dumplings, kimchi, rice cakes, mung-bean pancakes, and more. Saturday, May 7: The Fleet Awakens 2 at VooDoo Brewery
VooDoo Brewery’s epic food truck rally, The Fleet Awakens, is back. This time, a $5 cover fee will go to one of three local charities, and guests can arrive early to avoid the lines. See all the food trucks participating, and more details, online.
Friday, May 13: Bayardstown Social Opening Party
Bayardstown Social Club, the members-only (though anyone can become a member) backyard party place is kicking off their 2016 season with an opening bash. The party starts at 6:00 p.m., with live music and food trucks on site, including Berlin Street Foods, Mac & Gold Truck and Streetwater Brewing. Entrance is free for members, and $10 for non-members. Saturday, May 14: PizzaFest
Now in its second year, PizzaFest promises to be bigger, and better than ever. The celebration of all things pizza is happening at Arsenal Park, with 14 pizza shops participating, plus a craft show and live music. Oh – and a pizza-eating contest, too. Stay updated on their event page.
Saturday, May 14: Beers of the Burgh Festival
Beer lovers, you’re in for a treat. More than 40 breweries – including Arsenal Cider House, Erie Brewing Company, Fury Brewing Company, The Church Brew Works, Kaliber Brewing, and more – will be serving up samples of their drafts at the Warehouse at 415 Bingham Street. Your $45 regular ticket gets you three hours of drinking, and a VIP ticket will cost $59, but give you an extra hour of beer sampling. Food trucks Mission Mahi, Berlin Street Food, Pittsburgh Smokehouse, Burgh Bites and Second Breakfast will also be parked outside with food for purchase. Tickets are available online.
Sunday, May 15: Food Truck Roundup at St. Teresa of Avila
Pittsburgh loves a good church fundraiser (hello, fish frys LINK), and this one, at St. Teresa of Avila, is going to be pretty tasty. Eleven food trucks, including PGH Po’Boy, Southside BBQ Company, Franktuary, Wood Fired Flatbread Co., Stickler’s, Saucy Mama’s and PGH Taco Truck will be serving lunch from 11:00 a.m.t o 2:00 p.m., while the church provides seating and tables. Saturday, May 21: The Brew Gentlemen’s Second Anniversary Party
Braddock’s The Brew Gentlemen has a full week of events happening to celebrate their second anniversary, but the one that we’re most excited about is their anniversary party on Saturday, May 21. Get there early to purchase bottles of three new releases, and stay late as the party kicks off in earnest in their parking lot with live music, food trucks, and plenty of beer.
Saturday, May 21: Food Truck-A-Palooza
‘Tis the season for food truck rallies, and one of the biggest ones is happening at The Pump House at The Waterfront in Munhall. Nineteen local trucks will be participating, including The Brownstone, Grumbling Gypsy, Zeke’s Coffee Cart and Pittsburgh Crepe Cart. Tickets are $10, and include a beer or beverage. Saturday, May 28 and Sunday, May 29: Food Truck Fest
Haven’t got enough of the food truck festivals? Head down to Washington, PA for a two-day foodie fest, with 18 food trucks participating, and live music all weekend long at the Meadows Casino. You can find more details on their event page.
