There’s nothing better than a great meal… except a great dessert. If you want to give your sweet tooth a little loving, get yourself to these seven restaurants to try one of the desserts that you can’t absolutely can’t miss in Pittsburgh right now. But hurry – dessert menus change pretty quickly around here, and you don’t want to miss these delicious bites.

Chocolate Chip Cookies at Madeleine Bakery

I can't put into words how amazingly delicious these chocolate chip cookies from @madeleinebakerybistro are. 😍

Madeleine Bakery has only been open for a few months, but the Wilkinsburg bakery and cafe has already become a go-to spot for some of the best chocolate chip cookies in town. The perfectly-chewy sweet treats give just the right amount of crunch, and they’re sprinkled with a pinch of flaky salt for that perfect salty-sweet combination. Madeleine Bakery (609 S. Trenton Avenue)

Not only is the new Lemon Meringue Tart at brunoise isn’t only absolutely gorgeous to look at (and so Instagram-worthy), but it’s also insanely delicious. The lemon tart is topped with piped meringue that’s been lightly torched, and paired with Concorde Grape sorbet, made by Millie’s Homemade Ice Cream. Smallman Galley (54 21st Street)

Smoked Chocolate Pudding at El Lugar

Yes, sometimes smoked dishes can just taste a little too… smokey, you know? But that’s not the case with the excellent Smoked Chocolate Pudding from El Lugar at Federal Galley. Break through the burnt fluff to reveal a layer of crumbled graham, then enjoy a rich chocolate pudding. Another great pudding option at Federal Galley is the insanely-delicious Butter-Squash pudding at El Lugar’s sister restaurant Provision PGH (they’re both owned and operated by Stephen Eldridge and Susan Cope). Can’t decide between smokey chocolate or butterscotch and butternut squash? Get both! Federal Galley (200 Children’s Way)

Big enough for two, Poulet Bleu’s airy Chocolate Souffle comes with banana ice cream, pineapple, chocolate sauce, cherry compote and creme anglaise, so you can have a different flavor combination with every bite. And the souffle? It’s divine. Poulet Bleu (3519 Butler Street)

 Beignets at fl. 2

From fl. 2’s lunch dessert menu (don’t you just love a place that has a lunch dessert menu?), the beignets are fresh-made little bites of delicousness, served warm with banana chocolate, fig, and a dot of orange marmalade. Sprinkled with a bit of powdered sugar, it’s the best $6 you can spend in the middle of the day. fl. 2 (510 Market Street)
