Good Food Pittsburgh Radio: We’re Back, Baby

Hello, Good Food Pittsburgh Radio fans! Thank you so much for waiting for us as we took a (not-so-brief) hiatus… we had a good reason for it, we promise. In today’s episode, we discuss that, plus the big new Pittsburgh restaurant news and openings that we missed, our favorite summer cocktails, and a few tips for dining out (cheaply) in Pittsburgh right now.

Part 1

Lots of new restaurants opened in Pittsburgh in the past few months… 16, to be exact. Alta Via, Over Eden, Spirits & Tales all made our list, along with new offerings from Smallman Galley and Federal Galley that we’re raving about. And, if you want to read Burn the Ice: The American Culinary Revolution and Its End, a just-released book about the restaurant industry in the United States. I’m reading it now, and think you should, too!

Also: We briefly mentioned our Fried Chicken roundup from last year, which we desperately need to update… any favorites that we’re missing?

Part 2

It’s summer, and that means it’s time for summer cocktails! From Spork to the newly-opened Bridges & Bourbon, we share where our favorite seasonal libations can be found.

Part 3

Madeline shares a couple of tips about how to save cash when dining out this summer, from her favorite spots: Burgatory and Round Corner Cantina.

Part 4

Finally, we share the best things that we ate this week, including bites from Proper Brick Oven Pizza and Spork.

    Just listened to the pod while at the gym this morning and loved it! So nice to hear you both “dish” on what is happening locally in Pittsburgh about food and more. Keep it up! I am excited to have your earlier episodes to listen to and get myself caught up on some new dining spots. Keep cool, ladies!
