Since opening late last year, Scratch Food & Beverage has quietly been earning a reputation as a solid spot for elevated comfort food, with a focus on locally-sourced products and community events. And now, the Troy Hill restaurant is adding something new to their stellar menu… bugs.
Table Magazine broke the news that Scratch will be incorporating crickets and mealworms into a number of dishes, and the magazine has announced plans to team up with the restaurant for a special preview dinner to introduce the new menu.
The event is happening on Wednesday, August 31 at 6:00 p.m., and will feature a collaborative menu between Scratch’s executive chef Matt Petruna, and chef Ben Bebenroth of Cleveland’s Spice Kitchen + Bar.
Seats are $60 per person (with an additional $25 wine pairing option), and include a cocktail and appetizer, plus a four-course menu featuring dishes made with those ‘alternative’ proteins.
