Batch Moves to Larger Location, Expands Daily Menu

Batch has made a move.

The Saxonburg shop, known for their fresh-baked breads, homemade jams, and their array of locally-made products, has recently relocated to a new space… but they didn’t have to travel very far. In fact, the new space is just a few doors down from their old location.

Owner Meghan Pohl says that the new shop, at 230 West Main Street, is about double the size of their original shop, and will allow them to expand their daily menu.

The extra space will also let them offer counter service for limited dine-in dining.

Batch is also expanding their wholesale baking business. Pohl, who opened Batch in 2014 with co-owner Jessica Brewster, says that with their new convection oven, they’ll be able to greatly expand their bread line, and start selling more to area restaurants. “Focaccia, ciabatta, ryes, baguettes, etc.,” she says. Already a regular fixture at the Market Square Farmers Market in downtown Pittsburgh, Pohl plans on expanding their wholesale jam and jelly business, too.

The daily specials at the shop will also be changing. “We will also have two different types of salad every week, all served with house-made dressings,” Pohl says.

Other daily rotating specials include options like Meatball, tomato jam and mozzarella stuffed bread, Baby kale, beet, pear and bleu cheese salad, and Bacon & Gouda quiches. Batch also offers a daily homemade soup.

Batch is open Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
