As one Pittsburgh’s first craft breweries, Penn Brewery is known for it high-quality beers and classic Pittsburgh dishes. However, in recent years, the North Side brewery has added another element to its repertoire – Beer University.
For the past few years, Penn Brew U has educated and graduated Pittsburghers on basics of beer. This March, Penn Brew U is taking beer education to the next level with their “Master’s Degree Level” class.
The first session will be held on March 11 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Penn Brewery.
The Syllabus for the class includes:
- All about the grain bill – grain/beer pairing
- Advanced beer & food pairing
- Off-flavor sensory analysis – how to identify the cause of foul-tasting beer
- Upscale lunch featuring Chef’s selections made with Penn beers
- Barrel aging demo and tasting
- Time & temperature, and how they affect beer
- Course is led by Penn’s team of brewers.
Tickets are $65 per person and can be purchased online.
