We’re big fans of Allentown’s Black Forge Coffee House, the heavy metal-infused café with a reputation for community events that spotlight artists, musicians and other small businesses.
This week, they’re marking their first anniversary in business with an all-day celebration, starting with brunch, and ending with an old-school warehouse party.
On Sunday, August 14, stop by the café starting at 10:00 a.m. for a vegetarian and vegan brunch from Bluegrass Kitchen.
After the café closes at 3:00 p.m., the party continues at the warehouse around the corner at 829 Industry Street, with a lineup of live musicians (Molasses Barge, To Death, The Homeless Gospel Choir, among others), comedy and burlesque.
They’ll also have artists, makers, and vendors showcasing their works, too.
Apis Mead & Winery will be sampling a new Black Forge Coffee mead collaboration, and Rock Bottom Brewery will be sampling a Lightbearer (Black Forge’s house blend) coffee-conditioned IPA, plus other Rock Bottom beers.
Food includes picks from Leena’s Food Truck, Pittsburgh Smokehouse, Onion Maiden and Threefifty bakery.
And the best part? It’s a pay-what-you-can party, allowing guests to choose how much they want to spend to celebrate.
