Every few months, Butterjoint hosts a friendly competition between a select group of Pittsburgh chefs, in the form of an old-school wing off.
Chefs like Rick DeShantz, Csilla Thackray, and Keith Fuller come together for one night only, and serve up their own unique take on chicken wings – think, Piquillo wings with sour cream and green garlic, or Vietnamese-style with fried garlic and fish sauce caramel. The point is, these are not your average Buffalo wings.
After a few months’ hiatus, Butterjoint’s next wing off will be Monday, January 23, and will feature some pretty stellar competitors. Jamilka Borges from Spoon, Justin Severino from Cure and Morcilla, and the Spak brothers from Spak Brothers Pizza will be battling it out… and you get to vote on the winner.
Voting takes place from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., and the wings will be available in sampler sets, so you can try them all.
