Something big is coming to downtown Pittsburgh!
The Standard Market & Pint House, a multi-concept restaurant and event space, will open next month at 947 Penn Avenue.
General manager Michael Rudman says that the multi-service space will offer something for “breakfast, lunch, dinner and late-night.”
“The idea is that you can come at different times throughout the day, and have a completely different experience,” he says.
The first floor will feature a quick-service cafe with a selection of 12-15 grab-and-go options daily, like sushi, sandwiches, avocado toast and wraps. There will also be a made-to-order coffee bar, along with fresh-pressed juices, and smoothies.
The space will also include a full-service restaurant with seating for 100 in the main dining room. On the menu, you’ll find a health-forward menu, with dishes like Amish chicken, Scottish salmon, grain bowls, and a hearty selection of salads.

In addition to a full-service bar, the bar area will also feature a self-serve tap system, with 44 beers on drafts. With the self-serve tap system, guests will be able to sample brews, and pour their own beers from the controlled taps.
Behind the bar, there will also be a vintage gaming area, with arcade games like Pac Man, plus shuffleboard, pool tables, and more. There will also be 28 televisions throughout the space.
Finally, the second floor of the space will be a mezzanine area overlooking the street with seating for 60, and a private event room for parties and events.
Rudman says that the restaurant is expected to open in mid-to-late February. The Standard Market & Pint House will be owned and operated by AMPD Group, which also owns Steel Cactus, Local Bar + Kitchen, Ten Penny, Social House 7, and Foxtail.
