We may be living through the greatest real-life rom-com of all time, thanks to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce. And the season finale is this Sunday!
Is it real love? Is it a carefully-constructed relationship by PR goddess Tree Paine? Is it a vast conspiracy of two of the most powerful entertainment entities in the United States, and the Democratic party to have Swift come out in a ‘Biden or Bust 2024’ tee at halftime? Probably not to that, but who cares?! It’s the Swiftie Super Bowl, baby, and if you care more about The Tortured Poets Department than touchdowns, friendship bracelets than field goals, private jets than the New York Jets, (okay, we’ll stop now), then you’ve got to get some Taylor Swift treats to help you celebrate.
Natalie Lacek, a marketing coordinator at Bethel Bakery, says that adding a Swiftie Super Bowl Cake to their Super Bowl menu was a no-brainer for them.
“We added a Swiftie cake design to our menu last year, and always have different colors associated with different Taylor Swift eras, and so we decided to make this one in support of the Chiefs and Taylor Swift,” Lacek says. “We changed the colors to red and yellow on the bracelet, added a TK on one bracelet and a TS on the other, and made it festive for the event.”
Lacek says that it’s been a big success, and a popular option for football fans and Swifties.
“People really loved the little Instagram Reel that we put together showing it off, and we’ve been getting a lot of orders,” she says.
Bethel Bakery’s Swiftie Super Bowl cake is iced in their signature French buttercream, but can be personalized with any icing or filling flavors. Orders must be placed by Wednesday, February 7 for pickup on Saturday, February 10, but Lacek says that there may be some available in the store on Friday and Saturday.
Eight-inch round Swiftie cakes at Bethel Bakery start at $45.25.
Other bakeries in Pittsburgh are also feeling the Taylor Swift vibes right now. Oakmont Bakery is offering an ‘I’m Just Here for Taylor’ Super Bowl cake, plus dozens of other Super Bowl options, including football cookie cakes, gridiron cupcake cakes, sandwich rings and pepperoni bread.
Their single-layer Taylor Swift cakes come in chocolate, vanilla, and white almond, at start at $19. Online orders need a two-day lead time.
Maisy Cakes, a popular Mount Pleasant boutique bakery, will have Swiftie Bowl-inspired French macaroons available for purchase on Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at their bakeshop (520 Main Street, Mount Pleasant). Owner Cheri Cole says that while they won’t be taking pre-orders, if you reach out online, they can be reserved.
The macaroons will be $16 for a four-pack, in strawberry, vanilla bean, cake, and salted caramel flavors.
And The Pie Place in the South Hills has an assortment of Swiftie chocolate chip cookie cakes available for purchase before the big day, with options including ‘Red Kingdom: Taylor’s Version,’ ‘Travis + Swift,’ and ‘In Our Chiefs Era.’ Cakes are $26, and can be ordered online for store pickup.
