There’s a new restaurant now open in the North Hills.
Chef Kevin Watson has opened Chef’s Table, a “fresh, made-to-order restaurant focused on serving healthy, nutritious meals and giving back to the Pittsburgh community.”
Located at 2193 Babcock Boulevard (in the former Mediterrano location) Chef’s Table serves dishes that are inspired from various cuisines around the globe, including Vietnamese and Indian, and stateside dishes from locations from New England to New Orleans.
Standouts on the eclectic menu include a whole Cauliflower Steak (with Dijon maple sauce and a me’lange of white bean and Swiss chard), a Bahn Mi sandwich, various pizzas (like the Cubano, with Mojo pork, cheddar, pickles and mustard sauce), Stuffed Chicken Breast, with quinoa, roasted red peppers and spinach and cheese, along with specials, like Pan-Seared Scallops with risotto, sweet potatoes, Brussels Sprouts and pork belly, and Seafood Arrabbiata.
The restaurant will serve lunch and dinner daily, and Sunday brunch, featuring dishes like Fried Chicken with Biscuits and Gravy, Eggs Benedict with rosemary hollandaise, and French Toast casserole.
Watson, the former executive chef at Savoy and The Cafe at the Frick and the founder of Pittsburgh Premier Catering, is also implementing a ‘Buy a Meal, Give a Meal’ program, with an emphasis on feeding homebound senior citizens. The program will launch at Northview Heights High Rise, and the restaurant has started a GoFundMe fundraiser to fund the initiative.
The restaurant is also launching a prepared meals program next month, with healthy meals that can be picked up at the restaurant, and reheated at home.
Chef’s Table is open Tuesdays through Thursdays from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., and Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
