City Brew Tours, a company that has been touring guests to breweries around the northeast since 2008, is expanding to Pittsburgh.
The company currently has operations in Philadelphia, Boston, Washington D.C., Baltimore, and Burlington, Vermont, and beginning on April 22, Pittsburghers can hop on board for a fun and safe way to explore craft breweries.
With City Brew Tours, riders get a designated driver, tour guide, and VIP access to breweries across the city.
Each five-hour tour costs $99 per person and includes:
- 15 different craft beer tastings
- A light lunch with beer pairings
- A visit to four breweries (with complete tours at two or three)
- Round-trip transportation
- The history of Pittsburgh’s beer scene, as told by a tour guide
- Beer journal for tasting notes
There is also an “After Hours” tour (also $99) that starts later in the day and includes 18 different tastings and a dinner with beer pairings, from brewpubs like Spoonwood Brewing Company and Hop Farm Brewing Company.
While the official itinerary hasn’t yet been set, Penn Brewery, Draai Laag Brewing, Couch Brewery, Hitchhiker Brewing Company, Grist House and Allegheny City Brewing are just some of the breweries that will be included on the tour.
Private events can also be organized through the company.
Reservations can be made now online.
