Hey, babe… it’s time for a drink.
Hey Babe, a playful new craft cocktail-driven bar and lounge is now open in the historic former YMCA building in East Liberty.
Pittsburgh restaurant vets Danielle Cain and Rob Hirst first announced they were opening Hey Babe back in March, taking over the coffee bar area of the former Ace Hotel.
The space will feature a full bar menu, with classic cocktails, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic offerings, plus “refined but approachable” craft cocktails, like the on-draft ‘Rented Mule,’ with vodka, ginger two ways, and lime, and the ‘Oh, Hey Buddy,’ made with Askur gin, Campari and Meletti.

Food offerings will include sandwiches, salads, and sharable appetizers, with highlights including harissa-smoked lamb and hummus with pistachio dukka, kimchi Mac & Cheese with five-spiced pork belly, an oyster mushroom po’boy, and a black sesame mochi cake for dessert. There will also be plenty of gluten-free and vegan dishes available, too.
As for vibes, Cain and Hirst explain, “Hey Babe is… well, a total babe: a little bit fancy but never fussy, refined yet chill, sexy and also comfy,” says Cain. “It’s that just-right spot to start or end your night, the third space to meet old friends and make new ones. “So come as you are, Babe! We can’t wait to see you.”
Hey Babe is open Monday through Thursday from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 4:00 to 11:00 p.m. The bar’s ‘Golden Hour’ will be Monday through Friday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., and will feature $1 off beer, $9 house wines and house cocktails, and 15% off food.
