East End Brewing is heading south.
The Larimer brewery is opening a taproom at 651 Washington Road in Mt. Lebanon, offering a “big, bright storefront with loads of natural light and a nice setback for sidewalk seating.”
In a release, East End owner Scott Smith says that while all of the brewery’s beer production will continue to happen at their flagship brewery, the South Hills taproom will feature all East End offerings, including beer, cider, hard seltzer, and the company’s Barmy Soda Company sodas and fruited seltzer waters. The bar menu will also offer Pennsylvania-based cocktails and Pennsylvania wines.
And, the South Hills location will also be home to East End Chewing, with their veg-friendly menu of rustic, thick-crust pizza, plus soups, sides and bar snacks.
While it’s an exciting development for the Washington Road business district, the opening of the Mt. Lebanon location isn’t expected for… awhile. “Please be patient with us,” Smith writes. “The space is essentially an empty box, so this build-out represents a pretty big project.”
In the meantime, East End will be hosting a series of pop-up events in the space over the next few months – keep an eye on their social media accounts for updates.
