There’s something new brewing at East End Brewing Company.
The Larminer brewery has just released a Gin & Tonic Hard Seltzer, a sparkling seltzer with a 7.5% ABV.
In a release, owner Scott Smith says that the seltzer is a departure from their usual offerings, but he and the crew were excited to bring something new to market.
“We wanted to make something we relate to a bit more… which meant not just another fruited alcohol-containing drink,” he says. “We wanted something special.”
The Gin & Tonic was created with a few hundred pounds of juniper berries, dried orange peels and other botanicals that are commonly found in gin. A second set of flavors more common to tonic water, including gentian root and fresh lime were then added to the mix.
The hard seltzer was in development for more than a year, and went through more than two dozen bench trials until East End was happy with the final result.
East End Brewing Company’s Gin & Tonic Hard Seltzer is available in four-packs of 12 oz. cans right now for walk-in sales at the brewery, and are available for delivery on Saturdays in select Pittsburgh areas.
