Another new addition to the booming downtown dining scene has opened its doors.
Eddie V’s Prime Seafood was part of the $100 million dollar renovation to the Union Trust Building. The restaurant is located on the first floor of the building, and seats 274 guests, with live jazz played by locally-acclaimed musicians every night.
Eddie V’s is known across the country for fresh seafood, hand-carved steaks, and lively atmosphere. The restaurant currently has locations in Florida, Arizona, California, Illinois, Missouri, Texas and Virginia, and is expanding to Michigan later this year.
The menu includes classic steak and seafood house dishes like Steak and Lobster Tartare, Batter-fried Oysters, Maine Lobster Tacos, along with several hand-cut steaks, and fresh seafood like Parmesan Lemon Sole, Georges Bank Scallops, and Pacific Ahi Tuna.
The mood of the meal is set by extravagant decor, with giant booths, chandeliers, and a glassed wine cellar, featuring over 300 different wine options.
Additionally, the Pittsburgh Eddie V’s location is debuting a brand new cocktail menu that was formulated by chefs for over a year, and will soon be implemented in all Eddie V’s locations. The menu includes a “Smoked Old Fashioned,” served from a glass that smokes as the drink is poured, and the “Hope Diamond,” which is served with a diamond ice cube that seeps into the drink, coloring it a deep purple.
Eddie V’s Pittsburgh is open Sundays from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The restaurant hosts a happy hour each day from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. with specials on drinks, appetizers, and oysters.
