‘Tis the season for farm dinners – and thank goodness that we live in Western Pennsylvanian, where we have so many farms to enjoy!
Soergel Orchards has announced plans for a Farm-to-Fork Dinner at their farm on Saturday, August 15, at 4:30, and tickets are still available.
Guests will be able to enjoy a behind-the-scenes look at the farm, and will include a hayride from the Soergel Market to Soergel’s organic farm before the sunset dinner begins.
On the menu:
Appetizers
- Prosciutto-wrapped musk melon
- Garlic-toasted Italian bread served with fresh peach bruschette
- Chocolate and golden cherry tomato and artisan cheese skewers with lemon-basil and local honey glaze
- Select locally-sourced meats and cheeses with assorted gourmet mustards
- Chilled roasted seasonal vegetables drizzled with a balsamic glaze
Dinner Course
- Chilled creamy cucumber and zucchini soup and fresh-baked dinner rolls with Amish butter
- Apple wood smoked beef with dill horseradish sauce
- Fresh peach and blueberry basil-marinated grilled chicken
- Roasted sweet corn relish
- Homemade Farmers’ Market pasta with garlic olive oil
Dessert
- Country Ginger Gold Apple Crisp, topped with vanilla and mint whipped cream
