Fall may not be quite in the air yet, but that hasn’t stopped some of Pittsburgh’s favorite ice cream shops from officially offering their autumn menus, filled with everything from pumpkin and maple to caramel apples and Concord grapes.
At Page’s on the South Side, you’ll find classic favorites from the beloved brand, including a Pumpkin Roll Arctic Swirl and a Hot Apple Dumpling Sundae, plus a new dessert collaboration with Oakmont Bakery, made with a warmed maple cinnamon roll topped with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce.
The menu includes:
- Pumpkin Soft Servce
- Maple Soft Serve
- Apple Butter Pie Soft Serve: Made with fresh apple butter from Triple B Farms and graham crackers
- South Side Harvest: Apple butter milkshake with a hot caramel sundae on top
- Fall Market Shake: An apple cider shake with vanilla ice cream, caramel, and whipped cream
- Autumn Morning Arctic Swirl: Maple ice cream and waffle pieces
- Pumpkin Roll Arctic Swirl
- Pumpkin Cheesecake Arctic Swirl: Pumpkin ice cream with cheesecake swirls
- Apple Pie Arctic Swirl: Cinnamon apple ice cream topped with graham crackers
- Pecan Pumpkin Pie Arctic Swirl: Pumpkin ice cream, pecan pieces, and vanilla wafers
- Maple Delight Sundae: Warmed maple sticks from Oakmont Bakery, vanilla ice cream and caramel
- Apple Butter Soft Serve: made with fresh apple butter from Triple B Farms
- Campfire Arctic Swirl: Made with marshmallow, graham crackers, and chocolate chunks with toasted marshmallow on top
- Hot Apple Dumpling Sundae: Baked apple dumplings served with warm vanilla ice cream and apple cinnamon
- Apple Cider Float
Plus, they’re featuring two new take-home ice cream pies: Pumpkin Ice Cream Pie and Apple Butter Ice Cream Pie.
Page’s Fall menu will be available while supplies last.
Millie’s Homemade Ice Cream has also launched a Harvest Menu, now available at all brick & mortar locations in Pittsburgh.
The menu includes:
- Concord Grape Sorbet: Made with pureed Concord grapes, and a hint of sugar
- Sweet Corn Ice Cream: Twin Brook Dairy cream steeped with a puree of golden sweet corn
- Pumpkin Spice Latte: Millie’s Coffee Break ice cream, with warm spices and sweet pumpkin added
- Caramel Apple Dumpling: A 2023 favorite, back for a limited time
“Seasonal produce has always excited us,” said Chad Townsend, co-founder of Millie’s, in a release. “We take a lot of pride in sourcing the non-seasonal stuff as responsibly as we can, and focusing on sustainability and fair-trade practices opens up the playing field with regard to what we can work with while still feeling good about it. But at the end of summer, when all of these great things are starting to flood the farmers markets and CSAs – that’s when the flavors that we make almost write themselves.”
All four flavors will be available at Millie’s throughout the month of September.
And Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream has a brand-new Fall Collection now available, both online at at Jeni’s scoop shops.
Jeni’s menu includes:
- Bay Leaf Cheesecake: Cream cheese ice cream with herbaceous bay leaf notes and a graham cracker swirl
- Sweet Potato Marshmallow Praline: Spiced sweet potato ice cream swirled with marshmallow-scented cream and candied pecans
- Pumpkin Seed & Rye Cookie: Nutty roasted pumpkin seed cream with soft rye cookie crumbles
- Miso Butterscotch Brownie: Dark chocolate fudge brownies in toasted sugar and miso ice cream
The new fall flavors will be available throughout the season.
