Just in time for your at-home holiday celebrating, there’s some seriously great news coming from the owner of a former Pittsburgh pizzeria.
Rick Easton, the chef/baker behind Bread and Salt has announced that his sought-after holiday Panettone is now available for nationwide shipping.
Bread and Salt closed in Pittsburgh in 2016, after getting rave reviews in the New York Times, and a James Beard Award nomination for Easton. In the years since, the shop popped up in New York City, and eventually, Easton opened a brick and mortar Jersey City, New Jersey.
The holiday Panettone (“perhaps no better expression of what we aim to deliver in everything we bake,” according to Bread and Salt’s description) is a naturally leavened sweet bread, enriched with French butter and filled with candied fruits. It’s so beloved, it was also profiled in the New York Times
Each loaf is $50, and there’s an ordering limit of two per order.
Orders can be made online, and must be ordered by December 15 to ensure delivery by Christmas. Orders will still be taken after the 15th, but holiday delivery can’t be guaranteed.
Bread and Salt is also offering gift kits (with pasta, pantry items and Italian snacks), loaves of bread, and boxes of Italian cookies for shipping.
