
Frankferd Farms, an organic farm located on Saxonburg Boulevard in Saxonburg, PA (about 35 minutes north of the city) is hosting a series of vegetarian farm dinners this summer, in collaboration with some of the biggest names in Pittsburgh dining.
After the success of last year’s farm dinner series, Frankferd Farms has invited more local chefs and beverage providers back to the farm. This year, every dinner will be vegetarian and prepared on site with locally sourced ingredients.
The dates, and dinner schedule, are as follows:
Saturday, July 29: A benefit concert (featuring music by Travlin’ ) for 412 Food Rescue, small plates by Driftwood Oven, Leona’s Ice Cream, Roundabout Brewery. More information can be found on the event page.
Sunday, August 20: The Vandal, Drai Laag + Maggie’s Farm Rum. More information can be found on the event page.
Saturday, September 23: Spak Brothers, East End Brewing + local distillery, music by Unknown String Band. More information can be found on the event page.
In addition to delicious vegetarian fare by local chefs, each meal will feature local music, a farm tour, as well as well as drink pairings from local beer/wine/spirits providers.
Frankferd Farms is a locally owned, family business that was started by Betty and T.Lyle Ferderber 30 years ago. While organic farming is widely accepted today, that wasn’t necessarily the case when this farm began in 1978. Frankferd Farms now sells over 4000 products to seven surround states, specializing in organic, local, bulk, and specialty foods.
Tickets for these events range from $75-$95.
