There are almost too many good things to eat and drink this weekend in Pittsburgh. Our weekend picks?
We have never been to Legume without ordering their amazing fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies for dessert, but we may have to make an exception this weekend with these homemade personal peach pies. Basically, it’s summer in a pan.
You may love something sweet with your coffee, but we’re going to go with these Parsley & Chive scones from Zeke’s Coffee. They’re brand new today, and (if we’re betting) probably won’t be around for long.
There’s a new special this weekend at El Burro Comedor, and it’s a vegetarian’s dream. Their Portobello Mushroom Tacos are topped with poblano cream for the vegetarian version, and avocado salsa for vegans. Get two of ’em for $8.95.
Savoy has one of our favorite brunches in Pittsburgh, and this shot of their Fried Chicken and Waffles (drenched in Sriracha), makes us want to just get to Sunday already. Just a note – they also have a red velvet waffles version on their brunch menu, too. Sigh.
Lidia’s Pittsburgh will be closed for renovations from August 30 through September 7, so if you’re craving some really good pasta (like their Cinghiale, filled with braised wild boar and topped with a rosemary-infused sauce), you have exactly two nights to get it.
Hello, spice. Burgh’ers has topped their Harmony Burger with fresh horseradish, melted cheddar, caramelized onions, jalapenos and BBQ aioli. And it’s just what you need to kick off your Friday.
