There are almost too many good things to eat and drink this weekend in Pittsburgh. Our weekend picks?

We’re fairy obsessed with the Nom Bomb cookie from Om Nom Bakery. Made with two Chocolate Chipotle cookies (serving up just a hint of heat), and creamy handmade chocolate buttercream, sandwiched in between, they’re decadent, delightful… and they always sell out fast. Get ’em at Umbrella Cafe while you can!

Sonoma Grille might be playing fast and loose with a traditional Bahn Mi by adding sausage… but we like it. They pile it with pickled vegetables, fresh cilantro, and smother it with their own Korean BBQ. Lunch is served.

The coffee at Zeke’s is always good… really good. But their pastries… man, we love them. This weekend, they have Pumpkin Pecan Maple Danish Rolls, filled with pretty much every delicious autumn flavor that we can think of.

We take our house-made pasta very seriously. And thankfully, so does Keith Fuller at Root 174. On special this weekend is their house cavatelli, with sage, mushrooms, charred cauliflower, cauliflower puree, brown butter, and pickled mustard. It’s gorgeous. But not too gorgeous to totally devour.

Every month, Waffles, INCaffeinated comes up with a seasonally-appropriate waffle for a month-long special. And this month, it’s all about Thanksgiving. Their ‘Specialist McTurkey’ is savory a provolone, chorizo, onion and wild mushroom waffle topped with sliced tomato and chevre cheese, and served with a house-made turkey salad.

Since it is National Nachos Day, we have to celebrate with a plate of really good ones. And Randita’s Aspinwall localtion has ’em, with house-made nacho cheese and taco-seasoned tofu.
