Get Ready for the First Ever Western Pennsylvania Lamb Cook-off

July 18, 2017 by Madeline Quigley Leave a Comment

Lamb fans rejoice! TABLE Magazine and the Ace Hotel Pittsburgh are teaming up for the first-ever Western Pennsylvania Lamb Cook-off, to be held this Sunday, July 23, at the Ace Hotel in East Liberty.

Victoria Bradley and Christina French of TABLE Magazine were inspired by Taste of Vail’s Colorado Lamb Cook-off, and decided it was only fitting to bring an event of this nature to Western Pennsylvania, an area known for its lamb.

The festival will held outdoors, and feature over 25 chefs from Pittsburgh and beyond.  All chefs will be preparing their own interpretation of Jamison Farm lamb (from Latrobe), with seasonal produce from Paragon Foods.

Guests of the event will vote for their favorite chef team, and one will be selected at the “People’s Choice” winner.

The all-star lineup of chefs includes:

Pittsburgh chefs:

  • Justin Severino – Cure, Morcilla
  • Sam DiBattista – Vivo Kitchen
  • Dom Branduzzi – Piccolo Forno, Grapperia
  • Stephen Felder – Stagioni
  • Derek Burnell – Round Corner Cantina, El Burro, Umami
  • Roger Li – Umami, Ki Ramen
  • Jennifer Gerasole – Girasole
  • Kate Romane – Black Radish Kitchen
  • Brian Pekarick – S + P Restaurant Group
  • Curtis Gamble – Station
  • Wyatt Lash – The Commoner
  • Bethany Zozula – Whitfield
  • Dustin Gardner – Casbah
  • Eli Wahl – Eleven
  • Brandon Blumenfeld – Scratch F&B
  • Scott Walton – Acorn
  • Joe Tambellini – Joseph Tambellini Restaurant
  • Will Randall – Poros
  • Derek Stevens – Union Standard
  • Keith Fuller – Pork & Beans
  • Dan Carlton – Butcher and the Rye
  • Dave Racicot – täkō
  • Dave Anoia – DiAnoia’s Eatery

Outside of Pittsburgh

  • Dan Kern – 1201 Kitchen, Bird, Noosa – Erie
  • John Patterson – FORK RESTAURANT – Philadelphia
  • Jason Maitland – Restaurant Consulting – San Diego
  • Ryan Bloome – Terrain Garden Café – Glen Mills
  • Carlo Guardado – King’s Highway – Palm Springs

Tickets are available for $50 per adult, and $20 for children12 and younger (free for kids 4 and under). Tickets include entry to the event, and tastings from the chefs.

There will also be a special, “highly Instagrammable,” VIP space in the Ace Hotel’s gym, with air conditioning and an additional bar.  VIP access will be available on-site for $10. Proceeds will benefit  Pittsburgh Emergency Medicine Foundation.

Finally, the Ace Hotel is extending a special for the weekend – guests who book a room on Saturday July 22, 2017 or Sunday July 23, 2017 and use the code LAMBFEST will receive tickets to the event and VIP access.

A portion proceeds from this event will benefit the Pittsburgh Emergency Medicine Foundation. More information, and the link to purchase tickets, can be found online.
