The wonderful Pittsburgh Canning Exchange is at it again, hosting a fermentation party to give you a hands-on lesson in making your own sauerkraut.
On Sunday, October 19, author and fermentation expert Jill Ciciarelli will be leading the party, and teaching the fundamentals of fermentation. Attendees will be making two quart jars of their own sauerkraut to ferment at home, and will have the chance to taste sauerkraut at various stages throughout the fermentation process.
The All About the Kraut event takes place this Sunday, at the Wilkins School Community Center in Swissvale from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30. Tickets are $20 each, and can be purchased here.
