The “Allegheny Goatscape Goats,” a troop of local goats who naturally clear invasive and unwanted vegetation by making it dinner, are coming to clear land in the the South Side Park.
To celebrate their arrival, Friends of South Side Park is hosting “Goat Fest” in the Bandi Schaum Community Gardens, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. this Saturday, July 8.
The party will include live music, a live painting of the goats, guided hikes of the South Side Park, a Fire Truck for kids to explore, children’s storytime, sprinklers, and children’s games.
There will also be FREE grilled cheese, in addition to the Leon’s Caribbean Food Truck, Sticklers PGH ice pop truck, and Black Market Catering, which will be featuring goat cheese items.
Finally, the Pittsburgh Buttoneer will be bringing GoatFest buttons for guests while supplies last! Donations will go to more improvements in South Side Park via goats.
More information on the event can be found online.

Are they the same as Steel City Grazers?
Those goats and their donkey companion made my summer last year! 💜
